Usando Sametime con Gaim
Gaim como muchos sabemos es un cliente de mensajeria multiprotocolo...
Sametime como no muchos sabemos, es un protocolo de mensajeria desarrollado por IBM y bastante popular en entornos empresariales, aqui donde trabajo, usamos sametime, y obviamente se usa el cliente de sametime para el innombrable, pues bien desde hace un rato me di a la tarea de buscar un cliente o forma de entrar desde linux:
- Originalmente se puede entrar por el applet que traen los mismos servidores de sametime, pero requiere que tengas Netscape 4.79, y es una porqueria.
- Luego pude usar el JBuddy Messenger Pro, pero solamente es una muestra por cierto tiempo... esta creado en Java y por lo mismo, pesado.
- Cytrix tiene un cliente tambien para Sametime, no lo he usado pero segun rumores, no esta tan bueno como el JBuddy.
- IBM al parecer usa un script de Perl llamado "Sanity", la gente que lo ha usado dice que esta bastante bien... el problema? solo esta disponible para la gente que trabaja en IBM.
Lo mas reciente, y con lo que creo que me voy a quedar, es un plugin para Gaim llamado Meanwhile, bueno, no es un plugin per se, sino que son las librerias y aparte estos cuates se hicieron un plugin para que gaim use esas librerias.
Debo agradecer al compa ChitoPunk por el dato, en cuanto lo paso lo baje, instale y sin broncas usando FC2.

Es un monzita (si ya se que se llama chevy C2 de 4 puertas) negro negro como mi suerte... hoy me traje la cámara con las respectivas fotos pero se me olvidó el cable para descargarlas
En fin... la rola de hoy es Paint it Black, de The Doors... ya antes la habia puesto pero que diablos, I'm in the mood...

Endurance long forgotten
It's been a month and a half... working non-stop, 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week... I don't remember when exactly my endurance was depleted, maybe a week or two ago.
I don't know exactly how I can continue working and thinking....
It's not my compromise to the job, I now officially hate my job, it's not ethics... I've always been a practical person and don't care too much for that (not that I'm a lazy employee), any of the two reasons above have been long passed, and I am still here.
It's because I am too damn stubborn (and ugly) to know when to give up, I learned a lot more Java in a week than I learned in two years... I now know a lot more JavaScript than two weeks ago.
I officially hate JavaScript now.
How can you expect the unexpected in JavaScript? how do you make (or emulate) polymorphic methods in JavaScript? and most importantly... why the fuck there's no standard JavaScript?.
Yesterday I almost went crazy finding a way to recognize if an element is hidden or disabled so I don't have to validate it... I learned two important things:
1) element.style.display and element.style.visibility are two very different things, not just from the attributes point of view (the first uses ""/"none" and the second uses "visible"/"hidden"), but from the inheritance point of view: visibility inherits from the container object in HTML, while display doesn't. This took me 3 hours and a lot of testing.
2) element.disabled and element.isDisabled don't return the same frigging thing, usually the property isDisabled returns exactly what the element state is, while disabled doesn't do so. This took me another 3 hours and more testing.
Today there's no song... I'm too fscking tired... and it's just 10:00 am

Back again from hell
Despues de haber tenido algunas broncas, estamos de retorno con este chunche, la DB anterior pues se ve medio gacha con las ondas de los acentos y etc, de cualquier manera esta disponible para bajarse... ademas estoy probando JaWs del CVS.... a ver que bugs saltan y cuales se pueden arreglar.
